Artist David Hockney has inspired the world with bright, distinctive colorful paintings. Following Van Gogh's footsteps, Hockney now offers admirers of his work the opportunity to step into an immersive world exploring his art.
This installation over four floors is the first show to open in Lightroom, a new space in Kings Cross, London, equipped with the latest digital projection and audio-visual technology. The exhibition hopes to allow attendees "to see the world through [Hockney's] eyes
The exhibition titled David Hockney, Bigger & Closer, Not Smaller & Furthur Away will guide viewers through the artist's creative process, his experiments with perspective, and photography with audio from the artist himself. It will showcase some of his greatest artworks spanning sixty years, including recreations of his stage designs. Large-scale animations and projections allow viewers to step into the artwork.
A soundtrack narrated by Hockney adds a personal touch and provides an education as well as an experience.
